Really a fun place to visit. They have music at the farm that you can listen to that came from the times. It’s like going back to 1910 you can imagine everybody around you working on the farm and packaging the cotton.
The Dockery Plantation is widely known as the birthplace of the Blues. The owner of the post-bellum cotton plantation was well known for being kind to the sharecroppers and encouraging of musical pursuits.
Today, the plantation is quiet, but the sense of history is apparent. It is a must-visit if in the Delta.
Legend has it that this might be the birthplace of the blues. Whether you believe it or not, it's still a great place to pull over for a short visit.
